    Luke Jones - Piano.

    Luke Jones ..... is an abundantly imaginative virtuoso who puts his phenomenal technical and interpretative apparatus in the service of musical substance - The St.Petersburg Times.
    Since he burst onto the Llandeilo Festival scene some three years ago Luke has been making his mark in major piano competitions¸ notably winning the Kerr Memorial Prize at the Royal Overseas League Annual Music Competition and First Prize at the Bromsgrove International Musicians Competition.

    He will include works by Prokoviev, Debussy and Chopin in his programme.

    In 2012 three acclaimed soloists in their own right formed a trio which has become widely known for its innovative and engaging approach to chamber music performance, developing a reputation for presenting popular works in challenging and unfamiliar contexts. In the process, the trio has become an established presence on the international concert scene and its programme for the Festival will include such mouth-watering treats as its own arrangement of Saint-Saens’s famous Danse Macabre, the Piano Trio by the amazing, highly romantic and extremely accessible Armenian composer, Arno Babajanian, and the magnificent Second Piano Trio by Shostakovich.

  • The St. Teilo's Gospels Exhibition
    The beautifully illuminated Biblical Manuscript belonged to the religious community founded by St. Teilo in Llandeilo Fawr between the 8th and 10th centuries. Records made in the margins at that time are the earliest surviving examples of written Welsh and are a fascinating insight into Medieval Wales.
